PERT (Postsecondary Education Readiness Test)

What is the PERT used for?
  • Students that are interested in Dual Enrollment and who do not have a valid SAT, ACT, CLT, or PSAT score will need to take the PERT.
  • Students interested in participating in the on-campus PERT test offered in Fall & Spring should speak with their School Counselor.
    • Please note: Sign-up QR codes will be shared on campus and deadlines are firm. Students who miss the on-campus test opportunity and need to test in order to participate in Dual Enrollment may take (1) free PERT at DSC once they have applied to DSC and been accepted.
What is tested on the PERT?
  • Mathematics - assess your knowledge of equations, polynomials, coordinate planes, and more.
  • Reading - assess your ability to determine word meanings, recognize relationships between sentences, and distinguish between facts and opinions.
  • Writing - assess your ability to establish a topic/thesis, your usage of grammar and spelling, and your skills that pertain to conceptualizing and organizing ideas.
