All students who have current approved applications for reduced or free lunch are able to receive these helpful benefits. Congrats to senior Devin Dorton who was selected one of Florida’s Hammers of the week, going to the top 170lb wrestler in the state. Devin has been undefeated since the middle of December and looks to add 5 more wins tomorrow.

The girls basketball team traveled to Jacksonville and defeated Bishop Kenny High School in a thrilling game! The ending score was 60-54.

To be eligible for a 2021 Medallion of Excellence Award, you should be a high-achieving, community-minded, senior Buccaneer in the 2021 graduating class. Students interested in track, there will be a track interest meeting this Friday, January 8 in the Multipurpose room the 1st 10 minutes of both lunches.

Calling all creative writers, film makers, actors: Are you interested in submitting a short film for the Buccaneer Short Film Festival? This festival’s theme is Candyland. Film needs to be school appropriate, 6 minutes or less in length, candy must be the focal point or incorporated in film and film must be submitted with a movie poster and summary paragraph of film. Films must be submitted by Friday, January 29. Questions? See posters in the hallways for more information.

Attention all Juniors: Do you like to sing? Dance? Recite poetry? Act? Play an instrument? Have a special talent? Mr. and Miss Mainland applications are now available and can be picked up in the concession window outside the Hall of History during lunch. Applications are due on Wednesday, January 13.
