Just a reminder to all teachers and students: today we will be on an activity bell schedule. A reminder email was sent yesterday afternoon with the links for each period as well as the activity bell schedule.

Seniors….it is hard to believe, but Monday is March 1st!! Most Universities have final application deadlines on Monday, so if you have been waiting, this is your final reminder! Schools like FSU, USF, Stetson and more will close their application on Monday! Check the college website for deadline dates for any school you are still considering.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be meeting this coming Tuesday, March 2nd, in the Multipurpose room during first and second lunch. We’ll have a guest speaker, live music, a lot of fun and enjoy a time of encouragement and fellowship.

Cheer interest meeting next Tuesday, March 2 in the upper gym from 4pm-6pm.

ATTENTION JUNIORS!! The applications for the Engineering Scholars Program at Embry-Riddle (ESPERS) are now available. If you are interested in this summer opportunity, please see your school counselor for an application. Deadline for the application is April 8th.

Congratulations to the girls wrestling team this weekend at Girls state. We finished 13th out of 118 teams on the weekend. We had 3 top 10 finishers with Jahmya Hill, Trinia (tra nigh a) Tillman, and Abby Couillard. We also had our very first placers in school history with freshman Cheyenne Wigley placing 4th in the state and junior Aniya Dixon finishing runner up! Please congratulate these girls when you see them.

ASL club will be held from 3:30pm to 4:30pm in Mr.Holland’s room today.

Congratulations to the following 3 student-athletes from the wresting team who qualified for the regional tournament next week in Panama City. Sophomore Kaden Golder, junior Nico Rivera, and senior captain Jordan Colubiale. Way to go Bucs!

Tuesday night our academic team went to an away tri meet in Deltona. We competed in 3 separate meets. We won 2 of 3 of the meets and narrowly lost the third. Outstanding performances were turned in by team captains Megan Mazzoni and “Dr.” William Kamer

as well as team members Ethan Perrault, Olivia George, Katherine Mesa Perez, Jadon Powell, Norris Russum, Autumn Chewning, Jake Fessenden, Domenick Mitchell and Mateo Castillo. Today, at 330pm we have team yearbook pictures. Please be present and ready to be photographed! Congratulations team and an impressive winning meet!

Last night, the girls soccer team began their district tournament with a very impressive 10-1 win over the Belleview Rattlers. It took just 25 seconds into the match for the girls to get on the board as Isabella Castillo netted the first goal. She ended the night with 3 goals and 2 assists. Kassie Stoner scored twice, Shelby Lecates had a goal and 3 assists, and Ava Dougherty, Gianna Corbin, Sierra Yusup, and Tegin Johnston all had a goal each. Annabelle Dougherty had a good game last night and assisted 2 of the goals. The girls advance to the quarter finals and play top-seed Gainesville tomorrow at 5pm. Great job last night, and good luck tomorrow!

Academic Team members, thanks so much to those who came out and competed last night in our county tri meet. The organization and professionalism we showed as a school spoke well of us and we have received a lot of favorable comments from the leaders of the other teams and from the district leadership. Our academic team will meet for about 20 to 25 minutes today to look briefly at last night’s match results and to talk about Captains, practices and preparation. It is important that team members attend today’s after school meeting in room 2-221

Last week our academic team had their first meet. We won our first match, and narrowly lost our second match. Outstanding performances were turned in by Megan Mazzoni, William Kamer, Ethan Perreault, Olivia George, and Autumn Chewning. Our next meet is today, here at Mainland. Our team will also have our regular after school practice tomorrow, Tuesday, February 2. If you are interested in joining the academic team, please see Dr. Convoy or Mr. Gold… we laugh, we learn and we compete!

Congratulations to the Mainland wrestling team who beat Atlantic last Thursday night 66-9 at Senior Night. Seniors Isaias Davila and Devin Dorton both won by pin and senior Jordan Colubiale lost a close match 5 to 2 to the #3 wrestler in the state.
