Do you sing, dance, or have another amazing talent to share? Come audition for “Mainland’s Best Talent” tomorrow in the dance studio at 2:00PM! Acts will be selected from auditions to be in our Homecoming week talent show and the audience will vote for Mainland’s best talent of 2017! Acts should be performance ready at the audition and time limit is 3 minutes. The audition will start at 2:00PM in the dance studio located in the gym. Auditions are first come first serve, a list will be posted on the dance studio door on the backside of the gym to sign your act up. Solos and groups are welcome. If you have questions see Ms. Mahaffey. Bring your best and show us if you’ve got what it takes to be Mainland Best Talent tomorrow at 2:00PM!
Senior cap and gown order dates are today and tomorrow and next Tuesday, October 17 and Wednesday, October 18 during lunch in the Hall of History. $65.00 for cap, gown and tassel package. You may make a down payment if you don’t have the full amount.
Underclassman pictures are today and tomorrow. Freshman will have pictures taken through their research class, sophomores and juniors will have their pictures through their English classes. If you do not have an English teacher please see Mrs. Gardner in room 1-328 for your appointment time and pass.

Free November SAT Registration and CSS Profile Fee Waiver for Hurricane Irma-Impacted Students. To support students and families affected by Hurricane Irma, the College Board will offer a free November SAT registration and a CSS Profile fee waiver. We understand this is a difficult time for those who are struggling as a result of the storm. We hope this measure can ease some worry for students and ensure their college-going plans are minimally affected during storm recovery efforts. Please see Mrs. Carr in the Resource Room 1-238 for more information.
The free November SAT registration and CSS Profile fee waiver are for students who are experiencing hardship and/or displacement due to the hurricane and are in an area designated by FEMA. Please scroll down for the list of FEMA counties.
· Students who are registered for the November SAT should call Customer Service to receive a refund of their registration and late fee. Students can register and contact Customer Service through October 25. Together, we can make an impact to help the victims in Puerto Rico. We will be collecting monetary donations through this Friday, October 13. If all students, parents and staff donate just $1.00, Volusia County Schools could potentially collect $70,000! One letter will be sent to United For Puerto Rico with all donations from the entire district. United For Puerto Rico is an organization created by the governor’s wife, Beatriz Rosselló, in collaboration with the private sector. The initiative aims to provide aid and support to those affected in Puerto Rico by the impact of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane María.
