Earth Day Tips

- Eat lower on the food chain this week… meatless Monday!
- Open windows and allow a breeze in instead of turning on the AC.
- Upcycle before you recycle
- Carpool
- Stop Junk Mail
- Use Re-useable water bottles
- Utilize your ceiling fans. It is more cost and energy effective
- Plant a tree
- Run only full loads (washer, dryer, dishwasher)
- Close up shop and spend the summer outside, instead of on your phones!
- Start a compost pile or bin!
- Use your computer for notes, instead of paper.
- Walk or bike to close places.
- Make sure you get a recycling bin in your classroom.
- Be responsible in watering your lawns. Avoid watering at the hottest times of the day, you lose more water to evaporation.
- Mind the fertilizer ordinances over the summer.
- Use commercial car washes instead of washing your own car.
- Stop brown bagging lunches and use reusable bags.
- Visit a farmer’s market this weekend, and buy more locally grown vegetables!
- Invest in a good reusable water bottle or cup in place of using plastic water bottles.
- Start a small garden with your family.
